happy (almost) christmas and hanukah! +ecofriendly tips for wrapping presents

oke dokey readers, here's a mini update of life...fall exams FINALLY OVER! god, it took forever to study for chemistry and apush, but it's done so now i can relax and start on my apush project that is worth two test grades! XD i also had a show awhile back for moe and ollie. eh, i did okay, but never really breaking the top ten. they were both "too green" so yup, i need to run them basically everyday now. yup, it's fun. haha oh well, i need to work harder if i want to win. i rode mac this weekend and he was awe-some! he was really peppy with the below freezing temperatures >< jorge and i are doing great as well. he's quite a good kisser ;) anyways here are a couple tips for gift wrapping...
1) opt for newspaper for wrapping presents (do it within your family if easier to explain)
2) if you don't want to use newspaper, use bags so they can be reused
3) if you do use the bag or a box, take the tissue paper from the sleeves of your drycleaned shirts to stuff or wrap your item
4) make some of those cute present bows out of a page of a magazine here. it's actually really easy and fun :D
5) reuse or recycle your wrapping paper, bows, boxes or bags!

happy holidays and new year!

pic of the week y pequito update

okayy, so first my boring update about life. i have been so happy these past couple days :D so jorge y yo estamos (insert spanish word for officially) ir (insert word for out)! :DDD Hooray some one actually gets my weird sense of humor! :DDD so yeah. i'm just a girl after all. my speech went okay, i kinda had to rush because i started like right after the bell rang and i didn't want to be the bitch that made everyone late to class. i still got an a :) i'm in a really emotioncon kinda mood. so yup, my week so far is pretty uneventful other than that. chem club (yes i'm in chemistry club, nerds unite!) we added an akali or akaline earth metal (i forgot which) to water, and it sizzled, caught on fire, then eventually exploded! :P one other thing, i keep finding random ladybugs in my room! seriously, saturday morning, one on wall, saturday evening, found in under my alarm clock, just now, two on my curtain. i safely transferred them with tubberware and a sheet of paper because there is no way i would want to kill them even if they are little bitches + apparently it's bad luck (according to jorge). the good news in italy, if a ladybug flies in a person's bedroom it is considered good luck. even if i don't live in italy, i'll consider it as 4x the good luck...hopefully

so here is the picture of the week...sloth
think about the animal sloth, what does it do all day long? nothing! so sloth basically is laziness. i honestly don't know how else to put it. so there ya go! sloth=laziness. enjoy.

4 coats of nail polish v. lamb and goat show

review of the weekend
...homecoming game. my very first game, i was uber excited. my garter turned out really good and jorge loved it. he gave me this big ass mum (well it cover my whole left boob, but it was smalled compared to other girls) it made me so happy that he made it himself without any help and he even put a little lamb charm on it! :D we won (of course) making our record 8-1. i got to see one of my friends who graduated last year, which was super awesome, our band was beyond superior to our opponent (we outnumbered them by like...300, haha) though my friend karate chopped my paw sign, so i was a tad sad, but i had a lot of fun with jorge. and and and jorge got to see ollie and moe! ack i was so happy it wasn't weird (well, not very at least, haha) but ollie and moe were totally mean and didn't even acknowledge him. D: i got like 6 hours of sleep, not entirely bad.
...awesome ride! i woke up early to feed my animals (cause they were to be loaded in the afternoon, and only my dad could give me a ride, who had a meeting at like 9) so i rode an hour or so earlier. and mac was so fresh from his little vacation, he was alert and amazingly smooth. so the rest of saturday afternoon i tried to get my homework done and started to stress about the dance. got my ridiculously straight hair curled and nails painted too.
...homecoming dance. it was surprisingly fun, for the most part. nobody had my dress! hooray! it was soo cool, it was a deep teal with a sweetheart cut and fell in an a-line at my knee...AND IT HAD POCKETS! XD i love urbanoutfitters. jorge looked very sharp in his suit. the dance had this cheesy titanic theme, and the music was pretty crappy, but i had fun cause i was dancing a lot and hanging with my friends. we skipped out early to go play ddr at an arcade. haha. i was so tired and my voice hurt so bad from the past nights. i got 4 hours of sleep.
...stock show. yeah seriously my weekend was super crazy. i was so grumpy when i woke up at like 4:30am the show was all.day.long. ugh it was long. my stupid nail polish couldn't survive the show though, even with 4 layers of color. my teacher didn't even help the 20+ kids there, instead, only paying attention to her family. i may sound like a bitch but seriously, she didn't even watch or help any of us show, except her favorite students and niece and nephew. i enjoyed the freedom, but when i really needed her, i couldn't find her. and one of my classes was at the same time as my other, so i had a friend show moe. shoe results: ollie 5/8, 3/6. moe 6/6 6/6. poor moe was 119 lbs against 138 lb lambs. 6 hours of sleep last night

now i have to get a butt load of homework done, as well as a speech due on wendesday, which i haven't even had the chance to start the research. this week will i will be getting no sleep

what have a been eating?!

okay, so for NHS (national honors society) i signed up for a donation project where i donated a plastic pumpkin with two bags of sugar-free candy (this was before halloween obviously). so i asked my dad to pick up a pumpkin at the dollar store and sugar-free candy if he could find any. so he comes home with the pumpkin and these "au'some" fruit strips, and most food packages say like two or three things like 0g trans fat or no artificial flavors, but nooo this one takes the cake.

-made from 68% real fruit juice puree and jucies from concentrate

-all natural flavors

-excellent source of vitamin c

-no artificial colors

-no preservatives

-fat free and no trans fat

-nut free

-gluten free

-no gelatin

-kosher

it really makes me think, what the heck have i been eating? since when are there nuts in fruit strips? but the scariest part wasn't that there was a lot of, well, nothing...it was made in china. don't worry, i got sugar free reese's and stuff instead. sadly, the fruit strips are kinda tasty.

homecoming vs lamb/goat show

who knew making a homecoming garter is so hard?! i really hate that the instructions included in the garter kit pretty much needs a rosetta stone to decipher ("doo-dads" and "charms", what's the difference?!) and the internet is surprisingly useless. and i feel bad for my date 'cause he has to make the mum (well, partly his fault for procrastination), drive me the the game and dance, deal with my parents, and dealing with me haha. but the icing on the cake is that i have a lamb and goat show the same weekend. hooray. i feel if worse for my mom who is the board treasurer and has to be at the show at 6 am both days. so yeah next weekend will loads of fun. it would be so funny if jorge (nickname for my date, long story) met moe and ollie. i can picture them with wtf?! on all of their faces. oh my gosh! in one of my neatorama emails, there was a snippet of an article about a robotic mowing sheep...named moe! haha i thought it was quite ironic

oh by the way, happy halloween! my pumpkins were beastly. 4 pumpkins, one pac-man, two dots, and blinky! XD

pic of the week (a week and a half late...)

ack! there needs to be more hours in a day. with all these tests, essays, a standardized test (emphasise on the amount of tests), and projects is driving me up the wall. though my group APUSH project was quite successful (98 bee-yotch!) and my group Scarlet Letter project went even better (all the english teachers gawked at our dimmsdale piƱata) it's been crazy.

uber short summary of my lamb/goat show: my finewool-cross got 1st in his class, but nothing in champion drive; my goat was like third to last in his. it was a relatively short show, cause it was me and one other student with like 6 lambs (i can barely handle my lamb and goat, i have no idea how he does it!) anywayys, it was a good beginning of the year. tomorrow: cva training, 8 a.m. sharp, whoot. i know this sounds really pretentious, but i'm starting to get irritated that i'm the only one that already knows a lot of the information. i'm just the bitch who took a butt load of ag(riculture) classes, ffa nerd, and horse rider. I guess it's a good thing that it's like a review of the material. there has to be something good about it.

okay finally pic of the week! but really late! this week is pride...

so yeah, once again, it's easy to understand what pride is. if you don't understand, pride is having the excessive belief of one's abilities, and can be viewed as vanity sometimes. so the glass is like, "dude, look at how cool i am, and you're not...*cough, cough, loser*" ***notice the pinky. oke dokey, that's it for the pic of the week. just four more sins/glasses than i'll move on to some other random pictures. much love.

6 hourss...plus horse show fun

oh my god i am so thankful i only have one lamb and goat. my lamb (moe) had like an inch & a half thick wool and it seriously took about 2 hours to clean all of it, and i found some of the most random stuff twisted in it. twigs, poo (of course), feed, stickers (plant thingie), and even small bugs. it was not fun for me, so i can't imagine what it was like for poor moe. i hardly recognized him without his wooly face. it makes me a little sad :( i felt bad cause he had to stand there forever, washing, drying, clipping, it was no suprise he started to be an ass towards the end. ollie (goat) was practicallly a patient angel while i washed him, but when it came time to shear his head, he was a giant douche. then he was much-like-a-donkey to my ag(riculture) teacher. my toes are blistered by my stupid rubber boots, but my animals have clean, cutted coats, full stomachs, and a blanket to cover their new naked-ness. it doesn't help it's in the 60s at night, then 80s in the daytime. so to make this clear, i have a lamb and goat show sunday.

i totally forgot to blog about my horse show last weekend. it was a two-day show, two-classes i was in. i won both, but by default cause nobody decided to show againist me. i'm just that good *snap* haha anywayys, my first ride was by far the best ride i've ever had on my mac. in was a-mazing, except for one thing...i fell off XP so we were trotting arond the arena liked we owned the place, there was a rough patch in the dirt, a little bobble side step, pop goes my left stirrup, then pop goes me. my trainer just sighed and shook her head. i just brushed the dirt off my butt, put my derby back on and walked towards my horse. my other trainer came running in and said, "what happened?! you were having such a good ride!" I just smiled and said, "i lost a stirrup". it's odd that i always fall off at stupidest moments. example, my first show with Harley (RIP), lost both stirrups, cantering at full speed, me: smiling, having a good ole time. once i fell off because i was standing in the line-up at home, and i wanted to check if my horse's feet were aligned aka parked out. i leaned over, not knowing my girth was super loose, and plopped into the dirt. driving home, my mom said that mac felt i was falling and slickly trotted more to the right so i wouldn't crack my head open on the rail, stopped, than looked for me as if he was saying "human?! where'd ya go?!" and waited for me to get up. he will forever ruin all future boyfriends for me. XD my second ride was boring compared to that. oh well, i got some more miles on the still young macaroni (there are so many nicknames for my horse mac). plus when i wasn't showing i got to dj background music. sweet right?

if by any chance FFA is selling turkeys and cookies (meats and treats) at your school, buy! it may sound desperate and some items may be over-priced, but our budget has been cut, and we only get $5 of each item sold. we need money to cover LDEs (leadership development events), CDEs (career development events), shows, and food provided in the meeting!

ugh

ugh today was so frustrating. so there was a pep rally, and since they aren't mandatory, most un-spirited kids just sleep in like an extra 25 minutes (class starts 25 minutes later) well this was my original plan, but because i was so stuck on a SAT practice paper, i decided to wake up early and write it (usually i can whip up a 2 page paper in 45 minutes, i just had major brain issues last night) so i woke up early, but i forgot to tell my mom i was going to so she slept in late, so i had to wait on her to go feed my animals (i'm a dork and only have my permit. see kiddies, procrastination is bad!)

i was already a little cheesed off when i realized that i needed to haul animal feed up to the barn, conveniently located atop a hill. thank god i kept my feed in my truck right? wrong of course. because it rained the night before, i stored my feed in the cab of my truck to prevent rot, but little did i know that the passenger seat does not pull forward. i had difficulties getting the lamb feed out, and it ripped, pouring out at least a meal worth of feed. because i didn't want to waste anymore feed, i rushed up the hill to find a feed dolley. i raced to my truck and gently placed the bag on it. the goat feed, much like goats in general, was stubborn. while pulling it out, it slid in between the front and back seat and wedged itself in. after a long chorus of profanities, i rushed my ripped lamb feed to my lamb and salvaged leftover goat feed. my ag(riculture) teacher saw my frustration while tending to a sick lamb and sympathized, saying if i was a tad late i'd be okay. steaming i went back to my truck. my goat bag decided to rip open too. @&?$!

after all the rushing, finishing my paper, trying to throw my computer out the window for not letting me submit my paper, profanity, running to my truck to get my jacket, i ended up being 25 (irony right?) minutes late (even with pep rally) to my vet tech class expecting to make up notes on safety and sanitation. guess what? it was a free day and she hadn't taken roll yet. just my luck.

pic of the week

in the continuation of the seven deadly sins series, here is greed...

greed is pretty self-explanatory, but otherwise desire of material wealth of gain. so in this glass, you get more than a regular glass. oh, and today in my neatorama email there was this quaint picture also relating to the seven deadly sins...

ain't it cute? it was sold here on etsy. so yup, once again, if you need any explanation to the seven deadly sins click here. oke dokey. i promise to blog some more this week, that is if anybody else subscribes :D

in memory of Harley

sadly, today my very first horse, Harley, had to be put down today. i was 13 when i first rode Harley (registered name Magnificent Scene). he was the first horse i ever showed in five-gaited junior exhibitor. i was scared but he took care of me. it was as if he said, "stop messing with my bridle and let me work." he helped me when i didn't know what to do, but made me work if i got lazy. he taught me to be patient, to pay attention to surroundings, and how to trust my ride. it was almost like he was made for me; he was born exactly one day before me. same month, same year.
he always had a persistent eye condition called uveitis, where one of his eyes would get temporarily foggy. he was doing fine with his medication, until last my, when his condition got worse. eventually he developed a cataract in each eye. it was so painful for him in one, that we decided to remove it. little did we know was that eye was functional and his other was blinded. he became blind. all was going well this couple months, usually blind horses are so scared, they have to be euthanized immediately, but Harley was so trusting that he made it through. the only thing is he would sometimes bump into things in his stall. he hurt his shoulder and foot because of this, so to make sure he didn't go through anymore pain, the decision was made for him to be put down.
i've cried ever since the decision was made, and it's going to be hard not seeing him every weekend, but if i had to let him go to keep him from hurting, it was the only choice i could make. i love you Harley and i will always miss you.

pic of the week

okay so i said that i wanted to do a pic of the week, but the picture i wanted is part of a set of seven so i'll do one per week for, you guessed it, seven weeks! so this is a collection of wine glasses based on the seven deadly sins (if you don't know what they are click here) not unlike the song by Flogging Molly. this one is wrath...

so basically wrath means anger, impatience with law, and often leads to revenge. the main picture on the site kinda depicts a sling for wine. so yup, that's how i paraphrase it. i'll put the link to the site at the end of the seven weeks, unless you want to spoil the whole thing and search online. please don't. it will make me sad :(

turn or burn? really?

i've realized churches can get quite creative with their signs. for the past couple summers i go to simposonville, kentucky for the saddlebred scene (whoot!) and every year, that faithful (no pun intended) church sign reads "turn or burn". normally, i'd find this totally offensive, but now it's just funny. So here is a small collection of odd church signs...

We must alert the elders!

political pun? i would think so

Really?

this is not the first time i've seen a scandalous church sign. i saw another sign in simpsonville that said "your best position is knealing" silly people

and it helps if you have good grammer.

note: satin is a fabric, if you didn't know

it's very amusing finding these signs. oh and there's a collection of them in church signs across america. i found in what on earth catalog, but it's probably at your local bookstores. if you'd like to generate your own church sign here. it's fun!

pic of the week

i thought this would be kinda fun if i had a pic of da week, so here it is...balloon tank!

i found this pic awhile back from i believe neatorama.com, but i'm not entirely sure. so yup, i thought it was pretty cool.

feet hurt but worth it

god i smell so bad. haha, that's great to announce. this morning i went riding, and it was so amazing. probably one of my best rides ever! i gave my horse mac extra apple slices. before i left i checked up on my old horse harley. his eye got a really painful cataract, a couple months ago, so we got it removed to find out his other eye was useless. so now he's completly blind which is really depressing. he still can find me by my voice and gobble up treats though.

directly after riding, i needed to go up to the agriculture barn (for my school district) to feed my animals. i'm a FFA officer (formally known as future farmers of america, but now is just an abbreviation like SAT. no i do not want to be a farmer) and have a lamb & goat that i show named moe & ollie. also i had my first CVA I training (certified veterinary assistant) session up there. it was actually really interesting. i got to vaccinate and deworm one of the lambs. i pricked my finger with a needle, which looked really stupid and kinda hurt. plus there was a uber cute guy at the training ^^ that was a nice bonus. don't blame me, i'm just a girl. i finally got home like an hour ago, my feet aching. who knew rubber boots could hurt so much?

freshman feeling

wow do i feel like a freshman all over again. haha. hello! because this is my first blog thingy, i'd like to introduce myself. you can call me pumpkin, it's a nickname. i can get super crazy sometimes, and random all the time, slightly weird and quite smart if i do say so myself. i have a huge personality for someone whose 5 feet tall (thus the name short and ironic). i'm proud of my asian-ness and my fun-sized...ness. haha. i love music, a lot, along with writing, animals, bassists, converse, Threadless, and cool ranch doritos.

anywayys, i'm trying to make this as short as i can. this blog is about my general life, and my aspriation of becoming a vet. if i sound interesting sent me a message or something, i promise i will respond. if i sound uber stupid or boring, don't. hope everybody's having a peachy keen day and i hope to post some fun blogs.
